Zimbabwe’s leader, President Robert Mugabe is in Mexico attending a global platform for disaster risk reduction.

He traveled with several government officials including the under-fire Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing, Saviour Kasukuwere.

Mugabe was seen off at the Harare International Airport by Vice Presidents, Emmerson Mnangagwa and Phelekezela Mphoko, Defence Minister, Dr Sydney Sekeramayi, Minister of State Security, Kembo Mohadi, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda, senior government officials and service chiefs.

The global platform for disaster risk reduction has been held since 2007 for countries prone to natural and man made disasters which include floods, hurricanes, droughts and earthquakes among other climate induced disasters.

Phelekezela Mphoko is the acting president.
