Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) president Nelson Chamisa says the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) should make the delimitation report presented to President Emmerson Mnangagwa public.
He says in the interest of transparency and accountability the report should not be kept in secret.
“In the interest of transparency and accountability, and in terms of Sec 239(a) as read with Sec 161 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, ZEC must release to the world the final report presented to President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.
“This report must be known & seen so as to compare it with the gazetted one,” he says.
Apparently, ZEC recently refused to make public President Mnangagwa’s recommendations on the report.
This was after President Mnangagwa was given the draft report to which he made recommendations.
Meanwhile, critics have condemned the report as faulty, and some ZEC commissioners reportedly refused to sign it.
