Zambian Gvt, US Embassy speak on ‘US Military Base’ reports following public outcry

Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema

Following public outcry in the Zambia and the region, the Zambian Government has finally spoken on reports suggesting that the US is setting up a military base in that country.

The Zambian Government maintains that what is being established is not a military base, but security office for cooperation.

Apparently, the American Embassy in Lusaka has also spoken saying it is not planning a military base in the country.
