President Mnangagwa has appointed Dr Agnes Mahomva, a public health specialist current country head for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation, as new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health.
Mahomva has been president of the Zimbabwe Medical Association since 2014.
She is replacing Brigadier General Gerald Gwinji.
Mahomva comes at a time when there is a deep crisis in the public health sector with central hospitals failing to fulfill their obligations to patients
