“Cyclone Kenneth is projected to hit some parts of Zimbabwe at around evening time today,” a statement attributed to the country’s Civil Protection Department (CPU) has warned.

While the Zimbabwe government has reassured everyone that no cyclone is coming, there is a parallel circular warning that Cyclone Kenneth might hit Mbire, Muzarabani, Mt Darwin, Nyanga, low lying areas of Gokwe North, Masvingo Province, Chimanimani, Chipinge, Mutoko, and Mudzi.

Below is a message warning Zimbabweans in the aforementioned areas to be on high alert.

The cyclone is expected to hit Zimbabwe at around 1800hrs today.

Zimbabwe Civil Protection Unit will give updates of the cyclone after every three hours on the movement of the cyclone.

District administrators have been called upon to be alert in their areas so as to report any mishaps or flooding in their areas…. this is a developing story more to follow
