Midlands State University, Zvishavane Campus students who recently demonstrated against abuse of funds by the institution’s authorities have since received suspension letters barring them from entering the campus premises.

The revolting students were issued with suspension letters from the Vice Chancellor’s office on Friday.

According to an official letter which we are in possession of, written by the University’s acting Vice Chancellor Professor V. Muzvidziwa office as of March 30 the students are restricted to partake in any activities at the institution including attending lectures or enter any university campus premises pending investigations.

The letter partly reads, “I now do hereby suspend you from Midlands State University effective on from the 30th March 2017 pending a determination into alleged actions of misconduct on your part. The alleged misconduct relates to Whatsapp message which you originated and circulated to fellow students in which you sought to incite fellow students to engage in disruptive behavior.

“In addition you sought audience with the Zvishavane Campus Director and delivered a letter to him with threatening contents. Your alleged conduct constitutes a breach of the University Rules of Student Conduct Discipline Ordinance 2 of 2014.”

The students demonstrated last week in numbers at Zvishavane Campus attacking the university’s top officials which they alleged to be neglecting their welfare while enriching themselves.
