Musona suffers flu-like symptoms, ahead of Malawi tie

The Warriors of Zimbabwe are girding for battle against the Flames of Malawi in a must win AFCON 2022 match for both teams.

The match is scheduled for 18:00 hours.

Meanwhile, Warriors Captain Knowledge Musona & utility player Kundai Benyu returned to training yesterday after sustaining injuries.

Apparently, a decision on their availability for selection will be made after further consultation between coaches & the team doctors.

Zimbabwe who narrowly lost their first game by a goal to nil against Senegal need to win today’s encounter so as to boost hopes of progressing to the next round.

“We have two guys injured. Kundai has an ankle injury sustained against Senegal, and the captain [Musona] was struggling with flu-like symptoms.

“We will check everything in our final preparations this evening,” said coach Norman Mapeza last evening.
