Emotions are still high in Gweru after a local man today stabbed his ex-wife multiple times in the stomach and hands to death early hours of the day over allegations that she had denied to reunite with him.

Dignity Masvimbo alleged to be a  gold panner residing in Greenvale, Gweru came to Orripah Mashayamombe Gapare’s (22) place of residence in Mkoba 14 at around 5 am where he had a misunderstanding with his ex-wife leading to him stabbing her and leaving her lying in a pool of blood.

Well-placed sources have it that the two that have a child separated five years back and the killer was now demanding that they reunite, however the wife was refusing as she had moved on with her life.

This angered the man who brutally murdered his ex-wife(pictured).

The grief stricken Mashayamombe family and neighbours were struggling to come to terms with the violent death of Orripah  who was stabbed in front of her 91-year-old grandmother, Gogo Hamundidi.

The killer, Masvimbo (26), is said to have waited outside the home for Orripah’s mother to leave for Kudzanayi market before he pounced on his unsuspecting ex-wife.

Distraught Gogo Hamundidi, who tried to assist her granddaughter, said the accused got into the house and grabbed the now deceased by the hand and started beating and dragging her outside the house where he allegedly stabbed her several times on the neck, abdomen, shoulders and back.

The shocked mother of the late Orrippah, Alice Mashayamombe said she got a phone call to come back home before she had reached the market and was shocked to see the body of her daughter lying in a pool of blood when she got home.

The suspect, Masvimbo is still at large and police are appealing to anyone with information on his whereabouts to report to the nearest police station.
