Zimbabwe Republic Police(ZRP) officials have refused to discuss circumstances about the death of a Zimbabwe National Army captain whose body was found dumped in the back of his truck with stab wounds at Craft Centre, a stone’s throw away from Masvingo CBD.
The murdered man, Captain Phio Jeketera, is an army captain who was based at Military Ordinance Section in Harare and was travelling to his rural home in Zaka.
The City woke up on Saturday morning to the shocking news of a body found at the back of a truck close to Mucheke River Bridge where Police officers were manning a road block.
A passer-by alerted the cops of the body in the car.
Investigations later revealed that Jeketera who was driving a Nissan Vannete on Friday night came through Chivhu and Mpandawana en-route to Zaka via Roy.
He must have met his killers about six kilometres before Roy turn-off and there was a brawl with his attackers and one of his shoes dropped there.
He had one shoe on his leg when his body was discovered in the truck.
It is believed that unknown assailants murdered him and drove the truck with the body and dumped it in Masvingo in a bid to disguise the place of murder.
Investigations continue.
