Defiant Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC leader Nelson Chamisa had to address party supporters outside Rudhaka Stadium in Marondera amid a heavy police presence.

This was after the police had disturbed him from addressing his supporters inside the stadium.

Meanwhile, he said Zanu PF must stop abusing state institutions including the police.

Earlier on CC supporters protested outside Rudhaka Stadium in Marondera while their leader Chamisa negotiated with riot police officers to enable a scheduled rally to proceed.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police had deployed fully equipped riot operatives to stop the rally.

The police deployed water canons to dispurse CCC supporters who had gathered in Marondera to be addressed by their leader.

Apparently, observers say the police action is a clear indication that President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s regime is undemocratic.

Recently, Mnangagwa’s self styled chief supporters admitted that Chamisa is gaining ground.

One such person, Killer Zivhu is on record saying Chamisa is popular, though re-affirming that he remains a Mnangagwa chief supporter.
