Main opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party leader, Nelson Chamisa, has boldly declared that political change in the country is inevitable, calling upon Zimbabweans to ‘start celebrating’.

Chamisa, who is expected to give Zanu PF leader and Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa a good run for his money in harmonised elections to be held next year, said in a Tuesday morning tweet that victory for his party in the elections is not only ‘done and dusted’ but also ‘sealed and settled’.

“AGAINST ALL ODDS.. Prepare for the final burial of poverty, hunger, suffering and violence in Zimbabwe. It’s going to a big funeral! It’s done and dusted. It’s sealed and settled. The shift has happened. Change is inevitable. ZIMBABWE start celebrating!!#RegisterToVoteZW,” said Chamisa in comments posted on his Twitter handle.

Formerly with the MDC-Alliance, Chamisa controversially lost to Mnangagwa in the disputed 2018 elections.

Below, we publish some of the reactions to the CCC president’s tweet.
