The Public Accounts Committe has given the Ministry of Finance a 7 day ultimatum to submit evidence of expenditure to the Auditor General’s office.
The ministry spent over US$ 9 billion unauthorized between 2015 & 2018. In 2019 the ministry spent over ZWL 100 billion without parliamentary approval.
PAC summoned Ministry of Finance Permanent Secretary George Guvamatanga to explain why the ministry has been overspending and also failing to account for the expenditure.
