Tonderai Nhunzvi, a Harare man stabbed in the stomach during a fight with Caps United captain Method Mwanjali and defender Archford Gutu has opted for an out of court settlement and advised Zimbabwe prosecutors that he does not want to press ahead with attempted murder charges.
Mwanjali will most certainly walk free as authorities will have no option than to follow instructions from the complainant, Mr Nhunzvi.
The state will look into the case tomorrow.
The Makepekepe player has been playing football while his case was pending.
A source close to the development told zwnews.com reporters that a lower five figure sum of money was agreed and exchanged last week following intense negotiations between the representatives of Mwanjali and Tonderai Nhunzvi.
A custodial sentence was very likely as Mwanjali used disproportionate and unnecessary violence against an unarmed person.
