Lithium producer Prospect Resources Limited, which recently sold the Arcadia project to Huayou, announces that it has acquired another potentially high-grade lithium deposit 8km north of Arcadia.

The company says exploration has already began at the new site to find out the extent of the resource.

The most important uses of lithium is in rechargeable batteries for mobile phones, laptops, digital cameras and electric vehicles and some non-rechargeable batteries for things like heart pacemakers, toys and clocks.

Lithium and its compounds have several industrial applications also, including heat-resistant glass and ceramics, lithium grease lubricants, flux additives for iron, steel and aluminium production.
