Zimbabwe and Mamelodi Sundowns forward Khama Billiat has been honoured in Nigeria after he was picked as second best Africa Player of the Year based in Africa.
He came second to teammate Denis Onyango who is his team’s goalkeeper.
The star of the night was Algeria and Leicester City forward Riyad Mahrez who won the Africa Footballer of the Year award ahead of 2015 winner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool winger Sadio Mane in a poll of African national team coaches.
Billiat is how expected to join his teammates in Cameroon for a football friendly on the 10th of January ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations to be played in Gabon.
He becomes the first Zimbabwe player to be honoured at the continental event.
