FIFA threatens to suspend Zimbabwe

World football governing body FIFA has threatened to suspend Zimbabwe from international football unless the Sports Recreation Commission (SRC) reverses its suspension of local governing body, Zimbabwe Football Association board by 3 January 2022.

SRC recently suspended the ZIFA board over corruption allegations and misappropriation of funds.

Meanwhile, according to FIFA statutes, governments should not interfere with football matters.
