Eswatini Air has received foreign operator certificate for flights and it is currently applying for landing and departures slots at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport and 3 SA Airpots.
Manzini-Harare flights are expected to commence either March or April 2023.
Formerly known as the Royal Eswatini National Airways Corporation (RENAC), the airline is the flag carrier of the Kingdom of Eswatini, located in South Africa.
It is expected to see the new airline commence its operations shortly as authorities stated that it was now just a matter of obtaining operating permits and would soon publish a schedule.
Eswatini Air was scheduled to launch flights in mid-2022, but that was delayed for over a year for various reasons.
In 2021, the regional Civil Aviation Authority was on the ground to audit the airline’s readiness. It received a report giving full details of the observation, which was addressed and eventually closed.
