SOUTH AFRICA: Zimbabwe Warriors striker Tendai Ndoro was arrested in the neighbouring country for allegedly assaulting his wife Thando.

Ndoro was nabbed following a fight with his wife of six months at their home in Boksburg.

He allegedly strangled his South African wife, Thandekile Grace Maseko, before throwing a TV set at her, which she managed to dodge.

Narrating her troubles to reporters at the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court where Ndoro appeared, Thando confirmed that she opened a case against her husband after he allegedly tried to choke her.

Thando said she had suffered enough humiliation from Ndoro. She accused her husband of having an affair with a prominent ANC member.

She said Tuesday’s fight was over car keys.

Said Thando;

“He wanted the car keys and I didn’t give him because I was supposed to drop my son off at school.

“He pinned me on the bed and strangled me while he searched for the keys. He then picked up a TV and threw it at me but I managed to dodge it and it hit the wall,” she said.

Thando said Ndoro called a family meeting, where he again lost his temper.

“He tried to make me sign documents stating that I was not his legal wife as we are only married traditionally. I refused to sign those documents and he lost his mind and threw a bottle of juice, which broke against the wall and pieces of broken glass hit some people in the room.”

Thando then reported the Zimbabwe forward to police.

Ndoro was arrested on Saturday and spent the weekend in jail. A court granted him R1000 bail and he will appear in court later  this month.

This is not the first time Ndoro has made news headlines for turning his back on beloved ones.

In 2017, Ndoro allegedly abandoned his first wife Zinhle and their young son Christiano.

Zinhle said Tendai walked out on her when their child was two months old and went on to block her from contacting him on phone or social media.

“What kind of man does that? I asked for a DNA test since he had been telling people that it was not his child. We agreed to go to Medforum with his brother Takudzwa and my sisters but on the day he decided that we go alone.

When we go there he started making a scene then we ended up not doing it,” she said in September 2017.
