Controversial raunchy dancer Beverly Sibanda sent social media into overdrive yesterday after she got married at the Harare Magistrates’ court. While there were mixed reactions to the dirt dancer’s marriage, it seemed like the question on almost everyone’s mind was on the identity of the ‘lucky’ gentleman who had managed to ‘tame’ the outspoken and vivacious Bev, as the dancer is affectionately referred to by her legions of fans and supporters.
Beverly Sibanda’s husband is Doctor Chambuka Mufudzi, a medical doctor based in the United Kingdom. Chambuka is registered on the United Kingdom Companies House Government website as a 48-year-old British national who resides in England. He will be returning to the United Kingdom after finalizing his marriage.
Chambuka and Bev have been dating for a while now and during yesterday’s wedding ceremony, the dancer appeared visibly pregnant. While the couple solemnized their union yesterday, they were already customarily married as Doctor Chambuka paid lobola (the customary bride price) to Bev’s family almost a month ago.
Speaking after the court wedding, Bev’s manager Harpers Maphimhidze told local publication, H-Metro,
Good things come to those who have patience and Bev is one of the people who has shown us that patience pays…She has proved that true love exists as is the case with Bev and Mufudzi.
In life there comes a time when privacy is needed because at times lack of it jeopardises a lot of things. By the way, Bev and Mufudzi have been dating for a while and the two would chat over the phone. Three weeks ago, Mufudzi paid lobola to Bev’s family and he will be returning to the UK mid-February.
The lobola ceremony went according to plan and we are glad their marriage was blessed by the elders. The wedding thing was fast-tracked because he wanted s to finalise the paperwork before he returns to his base.
Harpers went on to say that Bev was going to continue with her dancing career as Chambuka was quite supportive of his wife.
From what I have gathered, Bev will continue dancing as long as she has the energy. Her husband was aware of Bev’s profession before they married and he is a responsible man who respects his woman. He has been sponsoring some of her tours and we are glad that they genuinely love each other.
