Harare mayor Jacob Mafume has been arrested, his party Movement for Democratic Change- Alliance has said.
Mafume has been arrested on corruption allegations, a senior government official has said.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana said Mafume is currently locked up at Rhodesville Police Station.
