Former Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane has responded to Jonathan Moyo’s reprimand saying Zimbabwe’s problems is non of his business.

Maimane says South Africans cannot ignore the oppression in Zimbabwe because it affects them, adding that they were wrong supporting late former President Robert Mugabe’s regime.

“Tyrannical regimes require silence in order to continue their oppression.

“If South Africa has been honest in 2002 and in 2008 we would have avoided the mass migration that followed. We paid a high price for supporting Mugabe.

He added that every South African should speak about the crisis in Zimbabwe because they are affected daily.

“We share our neighborhoods, we share our hospitals and clinics. We share our economy.

“Everyone of us should support the end of the oppressive regime including protests and shutdowns,” he said.
