Zimbabwe billionaire Strive Masiyiwa has come to the rescue of the country’s striking doctors by offering them 5000 bond note extra on top of their current government salaries.
The doctors will also get a smartphone, a vaya taxi ride from home, uniforms and diagnostic aides.
The offer is only available to 2000 doctors who are currently employed by the government. The foundation has also stressed that the initiative to pay doctors is unilateral and was not developed in consultation with government or doctors.
