They want me to be President now: Mnangagwa

Zimbabwe deputy leader Emmerson Mnangagwa has acknowledged that his supporters want him to take over as President while Mugabe is still alive.

Mnangagwa who has been attacked by rivals for his inaction against his restive supporters yesterday said he is aware some people want him be President while Mugabe is still in office.

VP Mnangagwa shockingly described his Lacoste backers as “mad” and said some of them have since been expelled from the revolutionary party.

He said this in Mutare yesterday after touring Mutare Prison Farm, which grew maize under the Government’s food security scheme, Command Agriculture.

“There are these mad young people who move around saying they want  Mnangagwa to be President and I told them you are mad. I don’t want to hear that,” said Mnangagwa.

“ We must all know that if you want to succeed in our country, you must be a member of the ruling party; the party that has a liberation struggle history; a party with leaders we can bank on because they sacrificed a lot for this country,” he said.

Mnangagwa still has a lot of explanation to do as his excuses now appear as a BIG cover up to those who feel that he is now doing all he can to buy time and protect his on career while at the same time allowing his lieutenants to campaign for him to take over.
