Masvingo Mashava car road accident leaves 4 people dead

4 people were killed yesterday in a head on accident on the Masvingo-Mashava road, Zimbabwe police have said.

The crash occurred when one of the vehicles encroached into the lane of another vehicle coming from the opposite direction.

Gladman Jekese (49), the driver of the Honda CRV fled the scene and went on to seek medical treatment a  nearby Mukurira Hospital in Masvingo where he was questioned by police.

Police believe Jekese switched lanes leading to the head on collision with the Nissan X salon that was coming from the other direction of the road.

Three other people are still admitted in hospital with critical injuries.

Jekese is now facing culpable homicide charges.
