The death of South African rapper AKA has caused shock and led to speculation and accusations of involvement by Moses Tembe, the father of AKA’s late fiancé Anele.

Mr Tembe, a well-respected Durban businessman, has denied any involvement in AKA’s death and expressed his sadness and condolences to AKA’s family.

AS PEOPLE SPECULATE ABOUT THE RAPPER’S DEATH, MOSES TEMBE, A POPULAR AND RESPECTED DURBAN TYCOON, HAS DENIED ANY INVOLVEMENT IN AKA’S DEATH.

On Saturday, 11 February, Moses said anyone who truly knows him and his family would not spread such rumours.

“We’ve never judged Kiernan, and we demonstrated our love for him to the very last day.

“We’re so saddened by this sad eventuality as it robs us of the opportunity we have been waiting for so patiently to vindicate our daughter in court or inquest,” he said.

AKA and his former manager and friend were shot and killed by two unknown gunmen outside a restaurant in Durban, on their way to a performance. Fans are calling for the swift arrest of the suspects and there have been various theories about the motive for the killing, with some blaming Anele’s family and accusing Moses of seeking revenge.

The KZN Premier has condemned the violent killing and called for the killers to be brought to justice. The police are investigating and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
