Centenarian (103) Killed By Mentally Challenged Grandson (26)

In a very depressing incident, a mentally challenged man from Kanyemba reportedly assaulted his 103-year old grandmother to death last Saturday, and has since disappeared to an unknown destination.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police )(ZRP) has since posted on its Twitter handle about the incident which occurred over the weekend.

Said the police:

“ZRP Kanyemba is investigating a case of murder which occurred at Mariga Village, Chief Chipato, Kanyemba on 26/03/22 where a suspected mentally challenged suspect (26) fatally assaulted his grandmother (103).

The suspect fled to an unknown destination after committing the offence. In another case, on 26/03/22, ZRP Zhombe recorded a murder case where Evans Mamvura (21) fatally attacked Melusi Moyo (21) with a knife at Mbama Village, Chief Ntabeni, Zhombe after a misunderstanding over a girlfriend. Police are yet to locate the suspect.”

“Meanwhile, Police in Chegutu are investigating a suspected case of murder which occurred at Biri River where a man (43) was found trapped by his nets in the water. Police noted the victim’s bicycle, tyre tube and clothes hipped outside the water,” the ZRP added.
