Zimbabwe football player Khama Billiat has been listed among the top five players nominated for the continent based African player of the year award.

This is in recognition for his performance at country and club level.

Khama was in good form in the 2015/2016 season helping his team win the ABSA premiership title.

The Zimbabwean star also guided Sundowns to glory on the African continent as Mamelodi Sundowns landed the CAF Champions League crown.

The Aces Youth Soccer Academy product also played a crucial role in helping Zimbabwe qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 2006.

The Confederation of African Football also released the African player of the year top 5 nominees.

Players that will vie for the top African player of the year award are Borussia Dortmund’s  Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Liverpool’s Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and the Leicester City duo of Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani.
