HARARE: President Emmerson Mnangagwa has left Harare for a 2-day official visit to the United Republic of Tanzania at the invitation of his counterpart President John Magufuli.

The president was seen off at the Robert Mugabe International Airport by Vice President Constantino Chiwenga who is now running the country while ED is away..


Tanzania played an instrumental role in the liberation of all former white-ruled countries in Africa.

The liberation Committee of the then Organisation of Africa Unity (OAU), now African Union, was headquartered in Dar es Salaam where it crafted strategies to dislodge colonial rule in Africa.

The state visit to Dar es Salaam by President Mnangagwa is like going back to the source to get invigorated by the country that bore the brunt of housing all liberation movements.

Meanwhile, Mnangagwa was was warmly received by his Tanzanian counterpart, John Magufuli at Julius Nyerere International Airport and is expected to visit Kaole Arts College after holding talks with President Magufuli.
