Renowned Zimbabwean investigative journalist Hopewell Chin’ono has blasted Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) governor John Mangudya for trying to pre-empty the much anticipated Aljazeera documentary on corruption.

“The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor John Mangudya has issued a statement denying what was said in snippets of the Al Jazeera documentary.

“Mr Mangudya has been badly advised, you don’t comment on something you haven’t seen.

“With this statement he has destroyed the alibis used!”

Chin’ono further told Mangudya not to treat him like a Public Relations person.

“…the scurrilous allegations have largely been widely and recklessly reported by a well-known and outspoken social media activist, elements of the local media,” Mangudya said.

“I am an award winning journalist Mr Mangudya.

“My job is to report news not to do PR Mr Mangudya.”

Apparently, the much anticipated Aljazeera documentary on rampant corruption in Zimbabwe is yet to be released.

Its release was postponed to a new date.

Some people particularly ZANU PF members have accused Chin’ono of working with Aljazeera to expose corruption in the country.

They even call for his arrest. Chin’ono has been arrested several times for exposing rampant corruption involving senior government officials.
