South Africa’s prison authorities have confirmed that former President Jacob Zuma’s 15-month sentence for contempt of court expired today.
Zuma was jailed on July 8, 2021, and released on medical parole on September 5, 2021.
Prison authorities say all administrative processes for his official release have now been concluded and he is now a free man.
