The Judicial Services Commission (JSC) arm of the State which provides administrative services to the judiciary, is expected to meet this morning and deliberate on how to respond to the High Court judgement barring Chief Justice Luke Malaba’s tenure extension beyond 70 years.
The High Court judgement barred President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s decision to extend Chief Justice Luke Malaba’s tenure by 5 more years beyond the 70 years age-limit in the constitution.
Mnangagwa did this through a controversial Amendment Act number 2.
Yesterday, Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Ziyambi Ziyambi hinted that the government was going to appeal against the High Court ruling.
However, Ziyambi took the opportunity to attack the judges who heard the matter, calling them captured enemies of the second republic.
