Chief Charumbira elected PAP president

Chief Fortune Charumbira is the new president of the Pan African Parliament after being elected yesterday.

At least 161 votes were in favour of Chief Fortune Charumbira, 31 abstained and 11 ballots were spoilt.

This came after the region threw its weight behind him despite him having controversial record.

In 2018 High Court judgement which ruled him offside for supporting Zanu PF in violation of the national constitution.
