Opposition Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa has arrived in Tsholotsho where he is addressing thousands of his supporters.
Chamisa told the people of Tsholotsho that his government will ensure they benefit fairly from job opportunities and local resources for the development of the district. It is wrong for people to come from faraway places to grab jobs and resources.
He adds that the country cannot find closure on Gukurahundi as long as the same perpetrators of the genocide continue posturing as solvers of the problem they created.
Chamisa in Tsholotsho, Matabeleland North, dancing before an enthusiastic crowd singing in Ndebele that he is our hero; champion; we will answer his call, follow him, with Welshman Ncube and Thabitha Khumalo.
Apparently, the CCC says it is taking its political juggernaut to Mutare this weekend.
Meanwhile, the Zimbabwean police continue barring the opposition from convening campaign rallies ahead of the 26 March by-elections.
The party adds that its rally scheduled for Binga has also been prohibited, Chamisa says the authorities “are quaking and shaking”.
However, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga says the police is to blame for barring the main opposition leader.
