Harare City Council has pulled a shocker to striking nurses that have failed to report for work since November 4 saying they will not receive their monthly wages.
The least they are likely to get is salary for the four days they have reported for duty, according to the municipality.
Harare Mayor Hebert Gomba said nurses should report for duty especially after council offered a salary increase for all its workers.
A senior manager said employees will only be paid for days they have worked for.
“We have nurses that have been coming to work daily. We cannot expect them to get same treatment with those that absconded work. Our position is that nurses will be paid for days they have reported for duty.
“If you came to work for a day your salary will be calculated accordingly,” said the manager.
