Zimbabwean Chiefs are set to get medical cover to be administered by the Premier Service Medical Aid Society, President Emmerson Mnangagwa disclosed this while handed over a medical aid card to Chief President Fortune Charumbira.
President Mnangagwa who officially opened the 2023 Annual National Chiefs conference in Bulawayo said the health and wellness of chiefs is vital.
The President also handed over motor vehicles to Chiefs for their use as they traverse areas of their jurisdiction meeting communities. Mobility is key for chiefs to deliver their traditional mandates.
The 2023 Annual Chiefs Conference at the ZITF Hall 1 in Bulawayo is running under the theme: “Firm cultural foundation for community development.”
Meanwhile, Mnangagwa called on all cabinet ministers to attend the Conference in future.
“When the Chiefs were presenting their developmental challenges in the briefing, I realised that all Cabinet Ministers should attend the Chiefs Conference in the future in order to attend to the concerns raised,” said President Mnangagwa.
