The troubled prosecutor-general Johannes Tomana is likely to be fired from his job very soon after the Judicial Service Commission resolved to recommend to President Robert Mugabe that he be dismissed from work for good.
Tomana’s crime is that he freed people who have been accused of planning to carry bombing campaigns against properties owned by President Mugabe’s family including Gushungo Dairies in Mazowe.
The JCS sat in Harare yesterday and resolved that Tomana was no longer suitable for the prosecutor-general’s position.
The JCS resolved to make a recommendation to … Mugabe that in terms of Section 187 (3) of the Constitution, Tomana must be fired from his job as he has brought disrepute to the judiciary.
A source close to the development told reporters that Tomana is in trouble after being found on the wrong side of Zanu PF factional and Mugabe succession wars.
