After Nelson Chamisa joked recently that he is in UK to meet Queen Elizabeth, the spokesperson of MDC T  Mr Luke Tamborinyoka has confirmed that his boss is off to The United Kingdom.

“MDC-T president Chamisa this weekend leaves for the United Kingdom where he will take the opportunity to interact with Zimbabweans in the diaspora. He was invited by the Oxford Union,” he said.

Mr Chamisa’s legitimacy as MDC-T leader is being challenged by Dr Thokozani Khupe, who claims she is the party president.
His trip to the UK follows a mission to that country by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister General(rtd) Sibusiso Moyo last month.

Chamisa will address a a UK rally in Bedford today, Sunday 6th of May.

Mr Chamisa has several times been criticized by state media and Zanu PF officials as he is perceived as the biggest threat to the ruling party in upcoming elections.

On Friday, Vice-President Dr Constantino Chiwenga ridiculed Mr Chamisa’s “juvenile politics”, promising to “dismantle (his) little make believe dreams”, but Chamisa hit back at Chiwenga saying he has no time for someone who is not presidential material.

Before flying to UK, Chamisa addressed a well attended MDC Alliance rally in Chegutu.
