The Local government minister July Moyo has suspended Harare mayor Jacob Mafume a second time.
Moyo made the move despite the fact that a court is set to rule next week on an application by prosecutors to bar him from going to work over claims he would interfere with witnesses in a criminal matter.
The minister said Mafume’s suspension is with immediate effect and based on allegations levelled against him.
