The Zimbabwean local currency traded at 258 last week to the United States dollar.
Apparently, the Zimbabwe dollar has slided to 290 this week at the official auction.
On the widely used black market, it is trading for between 450 and 500, amid calls for its abandonment in favour of the American dollar.
