Last week MDC-T ‘s vehicle was burnt in the early hours of Thursday morning and last night Duriro bar which belongs to Honourable VP Mudzuri was burnt to ashes and within the same night, Clr Njanjasi’ s Kuwadzana house was also destroyed.
This resurgence in violence on MDC-T properties has caused the party’s Harare Province to raise alarm on the partisan approach and subsequent silence from the police.
Speaking to the Harare Information Department, Clr Njanjasi said that he was lucky to be alive together with his family as the perpetrators had attacked and destroyed all the house windows, durawall and damaged house hold utensils in the house.
Two vehicles full of people were used in the attack. According to Honourable VP Mudzuri, Duriro bar’s thatched bar was burnt to ashes and nothing inside was recovered.
This unwarranted attacks on MDC-T properties and members is barbaric and is uncalled for. As MDC-T Harare Province, we condemn the attack in the strongest terms.
It is very sad that as MDC-T, our faith in the police force is now worrisome and if we had a non partisan police, the culprits would have been brought to book by now.
As a party, we will not be surprised to hear the ZANU(PF) Secretary for Administration who doubles as the Minister of Home Affairs, Ignatius Chombo, just like last week, again blaming this barbaric attack as an inside job.
Our message to Chombo is simple – the walls don’t only have ears but they can see, so be warned.
As Harare MDC Province, we urge the generality of our members and the public at large to be on a high alert in the face of an orgy of violence being perpetrated by the regime,
“Kuchavara hako”. No matter how long the night, the day is sure to come.
MDC-T – Eqaul Opportunities for All.
