Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko has indicated that Minister Kembo Mohadi was aware of the Zanu PF corruption issue and had authorised Moyo’s arrest before Mugabe intervened.

Mugabe was aware of an elaborate plan to get Moyo arrested and detained while he was away in Singapore.

Like hawks, Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) police were about to arrest Jonathan Moyo before Mugabe ordered them to leave him.

Speaking about the incident, Zimbabwe Vice President Mphoko has blasted the ZACC commissioners for disrespecting President Robert Mugabe’s instruction to stop the arrest of Professor Moyo for allegedly abusing ZIMDEF funds.

Addressing  Zanu PF supporters at Kent Estate in Norton constituency this Thursday, Vice President Mphoko described the move by ZACC commissioners to attempt to arrest Professor Moyo at the Zanu PF Politburo meeting last week, as a move to undermine the authority of  Mugabe who was chairing a crucial meeting.

Mphoko did not mince his words when he told the rally attended by high ranking party officials that President Mugabe is the one who pleaded with the Minister of State Security, Kembo Mohadi not to arrest Professor Moyo.

He blasted ZACC commissioner, Goodson Nguni and described him as a sell-out bent on dividing the revolutionary Zanu PF party.
