A summary of what was discussed and agreed between war veterans and President Robert Mugabe: “Stop jostling for the presidency, I am not dying yet. Stop thinking about succession”.
These words reflect an outcome that many were already suspecting.

Here Mugabe has managed to send a loud and clear message to all war vets and factions that were expecting him to announce his intention to resign. He is there to stay.
Judging from his statement, President Mugabe is there for the long haul and now that he has managed to control and pacify war veterans he can reach his 100 years mission as stated during his birthday interview.
As a reward for their support for Zanu PF, war veterans will get free plots that have already been guaranteed by his excellency.
From now on the war veterans indaba will become an annual event.
