Harare mayor Jacob Mafume has been recalled as Ward 17 councillor.
He was elected on an Movement for Democratic Change Alliance ticket in 2018.
Meanwhile, Mafume has been recalled by a defunct party which claims he was its member until January when his membership terminated after he “joined” the Citizens Coalition for Change.
Apparently, the Minister of Local Government, July Moyo has since written to the City of Harare Town Clerk to the effect.
Moyo urged the local Authority to notify the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission of the vacancy.
