To suggest that Mugabe alone especially at 94 was responsible for this rot and to bring him to Parliament is just rubbish and time wasting
A renowned political commentator has blasted Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his administration for wanting to quiz former president Robert Mugabe in parliament over missing diamond revenue.
Mugabe who has, on two occasions ignored summons to appear before parliament is being blamed for the 15 billion diamond revenue or potential revenue loss, that disappeared from the diamond fields in Marange.
However, prominent political analyst Dr Pedzisai Ruhanya says it is unfair to blame all the previous government’s rot and its mis-governance deeds on Mugabe alone.
Writing on his Twitter account, Ruhanya says instead people should blame the whole system that operated under Mugabe for the ills and not the old man alone.
“I do not support or like Mugabe, but to suggest that Mugabe alone especially at 94 was responsible for this rot and to bring him to Parliament is just rubbish and time wasting. Mugabe ran a system, and Mugabe is not the system,” he twitted few minutes ago.
The money in question reportedly vanished into thin air at the country’s mineral rich Marange diamond fields. It is also alleged that the former police Commissioner Augustine Chihuri who is reported to be currently bedridden in Malawi had his fingers dipped in the mineral jar. Chihuri is also on Mnangagwa’s list of persons wanted dead or alive to answer charges in that regard. Zwnews
