Renowned investigative journalist Hopewell Chin’ono has written to the police demanding the release of his camera, cell phone and other gadgets.
The police confiscated his gadgets when they arrested him sometime last year, saying he used them to commit a crime.
However, Chin’ono says since the charges against him were recently thrown out by the court, his gadgets should also be released.
“The High Court threw out the frivolous Incitement charges against me.
“My lawyers wrote to the police asking them to release the broadcast equipment they took from my house on the basis of those bogus charges. 7 days later, they haven’t responded. Zimbabwe has NO property rights,” he says.
