Cameras would not stop rolling in the Central Intelligence Organization(CIO) camp where one of their agents was severely thrashed and had his pistol taken by a 29 year old Zvishavane man.

Noel Kachingwe of Tagwe Village under Village under Chief Masunda of Zvishavane brutally assaulted a CIO agent (Kudakwashe Mazura) who brutalized his family during the 2008 elections before disarming him.

It is in the state’s case that on April 30 this month, at around 2pm the complainant Kudakwashe Mazura offered Kachingwe lift at Unki Mine turn off along Shurugwi-Zvishavane road.

Kachingwe identified Mazura as the man who burnt his sister’s buttocks using plastic bags during the violence that marred the 2008 elections; he became violent and started bashing Mazura with clenched fists.

During the fight Kurura managed to snatch Mazura’s CZ pistol which he had pointed at him and disappeared into the night.

Mazura filed a report at Zvishavane Police Station which led to the arrest of Kachingwe several days later after the police recovered the C Z pistol from his bedroom hut.

Appearing before Zvishavane resident Magistrate Shepherd Munjanja Kachingwe was sentenced to two years imprisonment for one count of possessing a firearm without a license and another count of assault.
