The country’s electricity output is down by 300Megawatts today after a major fault on Sunday at Hwange power station.
Today, power plants are producing 1145MW, this is almost half of what the country needs at peak.
Apparently, projections are that peak demand will more than double to around 5,000 MW by 2030.
The anticipated rise in demand is expected to be driven by mining and agriculture.
