The President Emmerson Mnangagwa led government says it is currently working on strategies to engage Zimbabweans in the Diaspora so that they can contribute towards the country’s economic development.
The government recently announced that it will give Zimbabweans in diaspora land to construct industrial parks, hospital and other projects.
However, the government was silent on their right to vote which they have been denied for a very long time now.
Political analyst Elder Mabhunu says it is unfair that Mnangagwa’s government wants money from Diasporans while rejecting them the right to vote.
President Mnangagwa’s government has for years treated Zimbabweans in diaspora as enemies bent on tarnishing the country’s image.
Diasporans have been treated as sell outs, whose leaving the country exposes its shortcomings.
Apparently, diaspora remittances constitute a chunk of foreign currency flowing into the country amid falling exports volumes.
