On April 1, 2023, a fatal road accident occurred near Musina town, resulting in the deaths of eight people, some of whom were believed to be Zimbabweans.
The accident involved a Toyota Quantum that collided head-on with a delivery van after the minibus taxi overtook unsafely on a barrier line.
According to Ms Tidimalo Chuene, spokesperson for Limpopo’s Traffic and Community Safety, five men and three women died in the accident, and eight other people sustained injuries and were taken to nearby health facilities for medical attention.
The road remains temporarily closed for emergency services, and Ms Chuene advised motorists to either use alternative routes or exercise patience if unable to change their route.
