BULAWAYO: Zimbabwe’s leader President Emmerson D Mnangagwa is safe after a bomb explosion took place at White City Stadium at the end of a big Zanu-PF rally today.
His spokesperson Mr George Charamba said the President was not hurt and is now at Bulawayo State House.
It is still not yet clear how many could have been injured as a result of the explosion.
Two aides died on the spot and several people were injured including political commissar Rugeje.
Meanwhile, a video has been posted online showing the moment a projectile broke through a tent before a loud sound was heard(see picture above).
VP Constantino Chiwenga’s wife was injured and hospitalised.
There are reports that other government officials including VP Kembo Mohadi and Oppah Muchinguri were also taken by paramedics after suffering injuries caused by the bomb blast.

No arrests have been reported or published by authorities.
